Helen M. Dudeck, 90, of Bear Creek, formerly of Plains, passed away on
Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She had resided the
past three years in that area to be living near her daughters.
Helen was born on September 26, 1919 and was the daughter of the late
Michael and Mary Pritch Sieniawski. She was a life-long member of Ss. Peter
and Paul Church, Plains; its Altar and Rosary Society and the Plains Senior
Citizens Organization. She was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School,
Class of 1937 and the Wilkes-Barre School of Practical Nursing. Before
retiring, she was on the staff of the Visiting Nurses Association of Wyoming
Valley.
During her life, she had a love for spending time with her family,
gardening, canning, baking, needlework and trips to Atlantic City.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; brothers Joseph and
Edward Sieniawski and a sister Genevieve Talmon.
She is survived by her son John and his wife Joette, Penn Run;
daughters Marilyn Dudeck, Mechanicsburg; Elizabeth Gora and her husband
Dominick, Mechanicsburg; sisters Florence Romanoski and husband Joseph,
Bear Creek; Marion Sieniawski, Plains; six grandchildren, Marissa, John and
Lisa Dudeck, Stanley Gora and his wife Nicci, Sarah Tenny and her husband
Gene; Mary Seaman and her husband Chris; two great-granddaughters Ava
and Lily Tenny, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen’s funeral will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains with a Mass
of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery Plains. Friends may call Wednesday
morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be sent to VNA Home Health and Hospice of Northeastern Pennsylvania,
900 Rutter Ave., Suite 8, Forty Fort, PA 18704, Attention Home Health.
