 Jennie A. Martin, 89, of Plains, passed away Monday afternoon in the
Golden Living Center East Mountain, Plains Township, following an illness.

    She was born in Wilkes-Barre and was the daughter of the late Giacomo
and Stella Doblix Picchi. Jennie was a graduate of Plains Memorial High
School, Class of 1938. She was employed in the local garment industry
until her retirement. Jennie was a member of Resurrection of the Lord
Polish National Catholic Church, Edwardsville and a retired member of the
I.L.G.W.U., Wilkes-Barre local. Her hobbies were knitting and solving word
puzzles in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her husband
Julius C. Martin, August 29, 1976; grandson Eugene C. Martin Jr.; brothers
Frank T.; John J. and Angelo J. Picchi D.C.

      Surviving are sons Eugene C.; Joseph T. and his wife Shirley A., both
of Plains; grandsons Joseph Martin II and Edward Martin.

    The funeral for Mrs. Martin will be conducted on Friday at 9:15  a.m.
from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains, followed
by a Funeral  Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Resurrection of the Lord Polish
National Catholic Church, 35  Zerby Ave., Edwardsville with Rev. Fr. Pawel
Filip officiating. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the parish
cemetery Lehman. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Christian
Vigil Service will be conducted Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
