Helen T. Stachowski, 91, formerly of Miner Street,
Hudson, passed away on Wednesday, February 3,
2010, in the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, following
an illness.
She was born in Parsons and was the daughter of
the late Frank and Pauline Miskiewicz Beneski. She
was educated in the Wilkes-Barre schools and had
resided in the Hudson section of Plains Township for
most of her life. She was a member of the former St.
Joseph Church, Hudson and a Charter Member of its
Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Helen was
preceded in death by her husband John, January 21,
1989; by brothers Leo, Anthony, William, Edward and
Joseph Beneski and by sisters Adele Queenan, Jean
Goldman and Elizabeth Beneski.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine Kozerski,
The Villages, Florida; Jeanne Beccaris and her
husband Jack, Laflin; Dolores Kish and her husband
Doctor John M., with whom Helen resided with in
Shavertown; niece Jacqueline Lesko, Wilkes-Barre;
grandchildren Leonard and James Kozerski, Jill
Pescatore, Jason Beccaris, Alexander and Nathan
Kish; great-grandchildren Ethan Howe, Zackary and
Caitlyn Kozerski, Zane and Jude Beccaris.
At Helen’s request, a private funeral was held on
Saturday with a Funeral Mass in Ss. Peter and Paul
Church, Plains and interment was in St. Joseph
Cemetery, Hudson. Arrangements were conducted by
Yanaitis Funeral Home, Plains. Memorial donations
may be sent to Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson
